Cellulite Solutions SERIES 2 of 3

Is Cellulite REALLY cellulite – “honestly who cares as long as that stuff gets off me NOW!”

End dimply, puckered skin – improving your connective tissue dysfunctions

The FasciaBlaster® is designed, engineered, researched, manufactured and used exclusively by Ashley Black and her followers (ME). The FasciaBlaster® is the only device on the market proving to break through fascia, the body's connective tissue that can cause unsightly cellulite as well as restrict blood flow and nerve supply.

WHAT??? Okay okay… I can hear the skid marks lying across your brain… connective tissue issues can cause unsightly cellulite???????  Yes, you read that right!!

The appearance of fat is affected by the webbed connective tissue called “fascia”. The fat will take the shape of whatever it is encased in, and it is encased in FASCIA!

What is Fascia?
fas·ci·a       ˈfaSH(ē)ə     noun
1. ANATOMY - a thin sheath of fibrous tissue enclosing a muscle or other organ.

Fascia is the connective tissue that forms webs or bands beneath the skin to attach, stabilize, enclose and separate muscles and other internal organs. Fascia has the ability to move—it can contract and relax on its own. Fascia is intertwined throughout the body from the foot (plantar fascia) all the way to the eyebrows (cranial fascia), and is one of the biggest sensory organs in the human body.
“I’m not so worried about the foot and eyebrows regions… more like around my booty, thighs and belly – right!?!”

Well have you ever pulled back the skin of a chicken breast and saw that webbing?  That’s fascia. How sticky is your Fascia?

Well in actuality… Cellulite a bit more dimensional, let me help uncover some confusion.

Bumpy uneven dimpled skin is from:
  • ·      Toxic cells
  • ·      Connective tissue issues
  • ·      Aging skin – reveals the conditions of the above

Last week I gave you Solutions to help Release Toxins In YOUR Cells.

Today I’ll give you SOLUTIONS & A RECIPE (below)FOR HEALTHY FASCIA / CONNECTIVE TISSUE and I have to give a big shout out to @Ashley Black for teaching me about fascia and giving me the skill to FASCIABLAST:

If you want healthy tissue, to age well and to have glowing skin, here are the dos and don’ts.

Fascia Dos & Don’ts

DOS
Fascia LOVES anti-inflammatory foods and these habits:
·      Animal based omega 3 fat: wild Alaskan salmon, mackerel and krill oil (see recipe below)
·      Leafy greens: kale, spinach, collard greens, and Swiss chard (see recipe below)
·      Blueberries
·      Tea: Match green tea and Tulsi teas
·      Fermented vegetables & cultured foods: raw sauerkraut, kimchee, miso, tempeh, pickles, olives, fermented vegetables, and kefir
·      Shitake mushrooms
·      Garlic
·      Spices: turmeric, curry, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, oregano, all spice, pumpkin spice, marjoram, sage, thyme and Italian spice (see recipe below)
·      Eat REAL food
·      Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate – did I get the point across? Muscles and surrounding tissues are made up of 75% water, which means they need to be constantly hydrated to avoid tissue damage. Dehydration can lead to faster muscle fatigue, friction in the joints, muscles and fascia–all of which can severely affect performance. Tip: Aim to drink ½ of your body weight in ounces of water.
·      Make mobility a priority – Get a FasciaBlaster session with Tamara and stretch, mobilize and utilize the movement tools at your facility you work out at.
·      Don’t forget about proper nutrition and supplements – a high-quality omega-3 fatty acid supplement (fish oil) is your best friend (I love Krill oil). It helps with a number of bodily functions including a decrease in inflammation, increases in cardiovascular function and promotes healthy energy levels to name a few.

DON’T’S
Fascia HATES these inflammation causing foods and these habits:
  • ·      Sugar… surprise surprise surprise J
  • ·      Alcohol… sh*t!
  • ·      Trans fat … bye bye donuts and commercial peanut butter
  • ·      Oxidized cholesterol… no more scrambled eggs or poor quality oils
  • ·      The “No pain, no gain” theory – Mobilizing isn’t always going to feel great but if you are having intense pain, burning, or other weird sensations it is best to stop and seek professional care.

These small little changes help increase your energy, decrease bloating and improve your overall health and well-being. Not only will you feel better, but your tissue quality and emotional health will improve too. Make these changes and you will be well on your way to a healthy life and a killer body!

If that’s not reason enough, as a Nutritionist & Fasciologist®, we understand that these foods and habits have either a positive or negative effect on the fascia at a cellular level.

1-day POST HOLIDAY BODY REBOOT

Holidays sometimes mean a little splurge. Don't worry-forgive, forget and get back on track with these recipes and tips.

Small tricks to cut calories and eat healthy.

There are times, like after a food-filled vacation or a big holiday, when I feel like my typically healthy diet needs a bit of a refresh. Instead of skipping meals, feeling guilty or drastically cutting calories—habits that can be detrimental to your health—try making some small changes to each meal to get back on track without a diet overhaul.

Here’s a daily plan with tricks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks that will save some calories and help you get right back on track.

BREAKFAST
Here is a trick to cut calories without missing out on any of the fun. Try this NO-Cook Overnight NO Oatmeal recipe: combine Greek yogurt, chia seeds, stevia or dash raw honey, and cinnamon in a ½ pint jar with a lid; cover and shake until combined. Remove lid and fold in blueberries, cover jar with lid and refrigerate overnight.

LUNCH
Skip the bread and have a crunchy satisfying salad with: arugula or watercress, hard boiled eggs or sardines, avocado, radishes, celery and scallions all tossed in olive oil and fresh lemon or lime juice.

SNACK

You can—and should—still enjoy snacks on a day where you’re trying to eat fewer calories. If you choose wisely, snacks can help you manage your hunger and pack lots of nutrients into your day without adding too many calories.  And typically if you eat a “real food” snack you tend to eat less dinner.  I use my snacks as an opportunity to pump up my intake of veggies, so try this: celery sticks with a little almond butter, homemade guacamole, or Greek yogurt dip made with sea salt, pepper and turmeric or curry powder.   And… if you have the metabolism type that does not need as many meals in the day as most then have a cup of green tea or bone broth (best beauty and health aid on the market).

DINNER

You’ve made it this far… don’t blow it… even if you have to go to bed early or have a late night snack of - celery or bone broth. – yes you did read that, sorry!  But… you can make the bone broth interesting by adding any of these: lemon, turmeric, fresh herbs, and cayenne…

When I’m minding my overindulging l and still want to feel satisfied, I turn to low-calorie veggies to bulk up a meal. Try swapping mashed cauliflower for potatoes (cup for cup, cauliflower saves 90 calories), or use spaghetti squash in place of pasta (to save 130 calories per cup).

And for dinner mix something like the above with:   a baked chicken dish and bake it in coconut oil or ghee and garlic ,  or grass fed filet, salmon dusted with coconut flour and egg mixture and baked or a lettuce wrapped turkey burger

DESSERT --- if you just cannot resist

If this is one of those times you are going to have dessert and are unwilling to forgo – let’s agree to this: One small piece of dark chocolate topped with ½ teaspoon of almond butter
